UK introduce new measures on food imports

Accra, Aug. 19, GNA – United Kingdom has introduced new custom and excise measures on food imports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra said on Tuesday.

A statement signed by Mr Ken Kanda, a Director at the Ministry, said Ghanaian travellers to UK could now carry a kilogram of “disease free” fish and fish products and two kilograms of fruit and raw vegetables into the country.

According to a directive from the Ghana High Commission in London, Port Officials in UK would confiscate quantities exceeding the limit.
