UK-Based Company donates Computers to Schools

Accra, Dec.22, GNA – The Management of Blue-Finger, a UK-based Company has presented 30 Computers and six printers to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MOEYS) for distribution to three Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) in Ghana.

They are Nsein Senior Secondary School, near Axim, Piina Senior Secondary School and St. Michael Senior Secondary School at Nkawkaw. A statement released to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Wednesday by the Ghana High Commission in London said, Mr. John O’Connor an Engineer and Chairman of the Blue-Finger Ltd, made the presentation. He said they were in response to an appeal made by Mr. Isaac Osei, Ghana’s High Commissioner to UK.

They were received on behalf of the schools by Mr.Ato Essuman, Chief Director of the Ministry who thanked the company for its good gesture and gave the assurance that the equipment would be put to good use. Earlier, Mr. O’Connor had presented 10 computers and two printers to the Achimota Secondary School in Accra.

He said it was also after a similar appeal by Mr Osei who felt it was necessary to make some of the computers available to a well-endowed school like Achimota to enable it to link up with schools, which were not so well endowed.

The computers were received by Mrs. Adelaide Kwami, Headmistress of the school, who thanked the Company for their kind gesture. The Company is currently working with the Ministry and the Ghana Navy to provide electronic surveillance equipment for policing Ghana’s territorial waters.
