UK based association adopts School in Nadowli District

Goli (U/W), Aug 31, GNA – Maalsun Association, a United Kingdom based group interested in promoting education in northern Ghana, has adopted Goli Roman Catholic Primary School in the Nadowli District to help meet challenges confronting the delivery of quality education in the school.

As a first step, the association has presented dual desks to the school to relieve the children the hardship of having to use the floor as writing desks.

Mr Dugunaah Christopher Nang-bayi, who made the donation at Goli on behalf of the Association, said though the association could not meet its target of making sure that all children in the school were adequately catered for, he believed the impact of the donation would be enormous.

He said the association would continue to assist the School no matter how little the assistance would be until its major challenges were addressed.

Mr Emmanuel Ken-zorre, a representative of the Nadowli District Director of Education, thanked the association for the support,

He appealed to the Chief of the village, the School Management Committee and the Parent/Teacher Association to rally behind the teachers to ensure that the children were regular and punctual at School.

Mr. Ken-zorre said truancy and absenteeism leading to high drop-out rates were problems in the district and called for the support of all to curb the practice.
