UEW Student found dead in his room

Winneba (C/R) Sept. 16 GNA-A second-year Science student of the Winneba of Education Winneba, Mr. David Ohene Gyamra was on Wednesday found dead in his rented room in a private house at the Victoria Street in Winneba.

Mr. Nicholas Gasu, Deputy Superintendent of Police In-Charge of the Winneba District told the Ghana News Agency on Friday that on September 13, the landlord of the house, whose name was not mentioned for security reasons upon not seeing Gyamra for sometime and of hear some bad scent from the room reported to the police the situation. He said later when the door was broken in the presence of the police and the landlord, Gyamra was found dead in his bed and his body in a very bad state.

Mr. Gasu said the police do not suspect any foul play. Dr. Cosmas W.K. Mereku, Dean of Student Affairs of the University told the Ghana News Agency in another interview that the relatives of Gyamra arrived from Akim Hemeng in the Eastern Region to assist the University authorities and police to bury him in Winneba. He said the body could not been sent to his hometown because of its bad state. 14 Sept. 06
