UEW asked set good track record

Winneba (C/R), April 15, GNA – The Director for Quality Assurance of the University of Education, Winneba, (UEW) Professor Jonas Apkanglo-Nartey has stressed the need for the University to set a good track record so that potential clients would select UEW as a preferred place of learning. He said with the emergence of almost 30 private and six public universities, with the foreign universities scouting for students in Ghana, there is the need for UEW to produce graduates who are employable world-wide.

Prof Akpanglo-Nartey said this at a day’s workshop organised by the University for its senior members in Winneba. The workshop sought to sensitize senior members to be very conscious of the need to establish and maintain quality and globally acceptable standards in all aspects of work and service delivery in the University. Prof Akpanglo-Nartey indicated that “the mark of a class university is the production of graduates who are employable worldwide. He said though it was important to set up a quality assurance unit in an organisation, it was more important to set a quality assurance structure at the various levels of operations to ensure that quality was maintained.

Prof Akpanglo-Nartey therefore urged those in administration and managerial positions in the University to put measures in place to ensure quality. He reminded senior members to take note of areas such as administration and management, curriculum design and organisation, learning resources, entry and exit of qualifications of students.
