UEW and UTL sign exchange programme

Winneba (C/R), Feb. 14, GNA – The President of Universite Des Temps Libres (UTL) at Abidjan in Cote d’ Ivoire, Dr Urbrain Amoah has stressed the need for African countries to come together as one body and find lasting solution to problems facing the continent.

Dr Amoah said that poverty and other problems such as civil wars and cross- boarder crimes could be either minimized or avoided on the continent if African countries form stronger links to formulate policies to fight them.

He said this at the signing of an exchange educational programme between his university and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) at Winneba on Friday.

Dr Amoah hoped that the signing of the agreement would further strengthen the existing cordial relationship between Ghana and Cote d’ Ivoire.

Professor Francis Joppah, Director of International Relations of UEW, who represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Jophus Anamuah-Mensah, said the signing of the programme remarks the relationship of the various universities in the country and those in Cote d’ Ivoire.

The programme would involve skills development, training, and staff development.

Two secretaries from the UTL, Mrs. Constantine Kauakau and Mrs. Celestine N’Guessan, who completed a three-week course at UEW to improve upon their English language as a start of the programme were presented with certificate. 14 Feb. 04
