UE Minister breaks ground for construction of Kandiga- Sirigu road

Bolgatanga, Nov. 11, GNA- Mr Mark Woyongo, Upper East Regional Minister, on Friday day broke grounds for the construction of a 10 kilometers stretch of road from Kandiga Junction to Sirigu in the Kassena Nankana East District

According to the Minister, the two phased project which cost 3,416,746 Ghana Cedis, is to be undertaken by two contractors at five kilometres stretch each and would include tarring of the road and construction of 2000 metre drainage expected to be completed in a period of nine months.

He said the Government was committed to ensuring that all the rural areas had good roads for easy movement and access to the hinterland.

According to him, twelve roads would be rehabilitated under the shea nut roads programme, five of which were already awarded on contract.
