UDS lecturer found dead in his room

A renowned doctor and a professor at the University for Development Studies has been found dead in his room Thursday.

The lifeless body of Dr. Soore, a lecturer with the Psychiatric Department at the Nyankpala campus of the university was found inside his room at his residence at Kunye villa, Tamale.

Starr News gathered that Dr. Soore locked himself up in the room and was found dead by those who forced the door open after repeated knocks without any response.

An official of the University but resident of the late professor’s residence told Starr News that he went inside his room and failed to come out for three days.

He added that nothing suggested the late professor was murdered.

Authorities of the University have confirmed the tragedy but parried questions for details.

There is no official statement from the University yet.

The body of the lecturer has since been conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue after police came to the scene to initiate an investigation.

Details of the death remain sketchy as the university and hospital authorities are tight- lipped over the sad incident.

When Starr News visited the Nyankpala campus, lectures and students were grief- stricken.
