UDS and Okanagan University sign $500,000 agreement

The University For Development Studies (UDS) and the Okanagan University College of Canada (OUC) have signed a 500,000- dollar capacity building agreement.

The four-year agreement, which is divided into three components, include the development and piloting of diploma courses in community development, institutional strengthening, and the creation of a contract-training department within the UDS.

A press statement issued by the UDS Public Relations Directorate on Tuesday said the diploma programme will complement UDS’ current deliveries and strengthen its reputation as the country’s leading institute for the training of development personnel.

The institutional strengthening component of the project will focus on streamlining administrative procedures and further train UDS instructional staff.

The statement said the creation of a contract-training department would allow the UDS to assess local training needs, create instructional packages for delivery to contracting agencies.
