UCC alumni donates food items to University Hospital

Cape Coast, April 2, GNA- The Maximum Impact Foundation (MIP), a religious organisation founded by some alumni of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), based in the United Kingdom, on Friday donated a quantity of food items worth about 3 million cedis and one million cedis cash to the UCC hospital. The items included 12 mini bags of rice, a bag of sugar, 12 jars of jam and five cartons of milk.

Prophet Henry Abeiku Afful, founder and leader of the group, presenting the items said theirs was a “widow’s mite” towards making life pleasant for patients at the hospital. He said the organisation was motivated by the positive role the University played in shaping their destiny, adding that, this was the “beginning of greater things to come”.

Reverend Professor Emmanuel Adow Obeng, Vice-Chancellor of the UCC, commended the alumni and expressed the satisfaction that the former students were now coming out to make a significant impact on the University. He urged others to also assist in the academic and infrastructure development of the University.

Mr John Kofi Obeng, acting director of UCC Health Services on behalf of the hospital, thanked the donors, and appealed to them to help it acquire an ambulance and new equipment for the theatre.
