U/ W Police parades eight suspected armed robbers

The Upper West Regional Police Command on Friday held an identification parade for eight suspected armed robbers who were arrested in connection with the recent shooting of the Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Amidu Sulemana and other high way robberies in the region.

The parade was held at the Regional Headquarters of the police and gave armed robbery victims the opportunity to identify the eight suspected armed robbers.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr. Edmond Nyamekye, Regional Staff Officer and acting Public Relations Officer, said three of the armed robbers were identified by some of the robbery victims.

The three of them who were identified as Jallo Fuseini, Jallo Kolka and Munya Jallo, all from Burkina Faso.

Mr. Nyamekye said the Upper West Region, which used to be peaceful, was fast becoming a robbery prone region, which the Police was adapting various strategies to curb.

He said the Regional Police Command was working in partnership with the Police in Burkina Faso to deal with the problem.

Mr. Nyamekye said the identification parade was a success and commended the general public for coming in their numbers.
