Two-year old boy murdered

Mankranso (Ash), Oct 18, GNA – A 25-year-old teacher of Kunsu-Wioso D/A Primary School in the Ahafo-Ano South District, Raymond Messeh, has been arrested for allegedly killing his two-year-old son, Kelvin Neyng.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency, Assistant Superintendent of Police Vitus Napen, the Mankrano District Police Commander, said the teacher had one issue with Janet Abiti and that they lived at Kunsu near Mankranso.

He said Messeh had misunderstanding with the wife and as a result Abiti left the town for Hohoe in the Volta Region with the baby. Mr Napen said about a month ago, the teacher sent a message asking the wife to proceed to Kunsu for an amicable settlement of the issue. The wife obliged and arrived at Kunsu on October 15.

At midnight the teacher took the baby from Abiti and slept on the corridor but later the baby was nowhere to be found. The Police Commander said when the wife asked the whereabouts of the baby, the teacher got angry and held the wife’s neck. Mr Napen said on October 16 the baby was found dead in the Kunsu public toilet and the incident was reported to the police and the teacher was arrested.

The body has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital mortuary and Messeh had been placed in police custody.
