Two traders fined for disturbing public peace

Two traders at Assakae in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis have been sentenced to a fine of GHS 100.00 each or in default imprisonment for 21 days for disturbing public peace.

Dorcas Baah and Mariam Ibrahim pleaded guilty to the offence and were sentenced accordingly.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Bernard Ahinsah, told a Takoradi Magistrate’s Court, presided over by Mr Thomas Ofedie, that both convicts resided at Assakae near Takoradi.

He said on December 6, 2012, a confrontation ensued between them at the Kwesimintsim Market resulting in a fight.

Both Ibrahim and Baah reported the incident to the police and were issued with police medical forms to attend hospital for treatment.

After police investigations both convicts were arraigned before court for prosecution.
