Two traders arrested for drug smuggling

Accra, Jan. 22, GNA- Two Traders, Agata Kwarteng and Charles Opoku were over the weekend arrested by the Custom Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) at the Kotoka International Airport for attempting to smuggle illegal substance suspected to be narcotic. The substance was concealed in foodstuff and other personal luggage.

An official of the CEPS told the GNA that the suspects had talisman on them, which they claimed was given to them by a Mallam to enable them to outwit the officials at the airport. He indicted that the narcotic board tested the substance and found out that it was cocaine.

Meanwhile the suspects had been handed over to the Narcotic Control Board for interrogation and prosecution. Jan. 22 06
