Two teachers held over death of student

Bolgatanga, Sept. 30, GNA- Two teachers from the Sandema Senior Secondary/Technical School in the Builsa District of the Upper East Region have been placed in police custody over the death of a student of the school, Master Akanwe Akowan.

They are Kingsley Azantilow and Akum Nyeiri.

A police source told the Ghana News Agency in Bolgatanga on Monday that on September 25, the teachers met the deceased and a friend taking khebab.

The teachers allegedly quizzed the two students on to how they came by money to buy the khebab and this generated into an argument. The source said the teachers allegedly beat up the student and hit his head against a concrete culvert. The student became unconscious and was rushed to the Sandema Hospital where he died later.
