Two suspected robbers busted in Bole

Two suspected armed robbers were on Thursday remanded into prison custody by a Tamale Circuit Court presided over by Mr. Senyo Amedahe over a robbery charge.

They would reappear on the 11 of July.

The suspects, who were paternal brothers, were busted by the Bole Police during a robbery spree at the outskirts of the Bole-Kui feeder road where they allegedly robbed several victims of their money and other valuables at gun point.

Prince Lartey and Benjamin Asare, 27 and 24 respectively, on the 23rd of June at about 0800 hours, barricaded the road leading to the Kui mining village and stopped two passenger vehicles and other motorists, and succeeded in robbing them.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ebenezer Tetteh, Northern Regional Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, told the GNA that the Police had a tip-off and managed to arrest the suspects with the support of the Kabiama community in the Bole District.

He said a search on them uncovered a single barrel gun, 16 cartridges, four sharp knives, mobile phones and an unspecified amount of money.

He said the suspects admitted to the offence of blocking the road and robbing people of their valuables.

ASP Tetteh appealed to the general public to continue giving out valuable information that would lead to such arrests.

He commended the Kabiama community for assisting the Police in protecting lives and property.
