Two Suspected Land Guards Found Dead At Danchira

The Dansoman Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of two persons suspected to be land guards at Danchira near Ablekuma in the Greater Accra Region, last Friday.

One of the dead was identified as Salifu Musa, 34, a resident of Russia in Accra. The police found the corpses near a mosque.

Sources close to the Dansoman Divisional Police told the Ghana News Agency that following reports of impending clashes between rival land guards in the area, policemen were deployed to Danchira on Thursday, August 9.

The police arrested 13 young men armed with machetes and other offensive weapons at the outskirts of the village and impounded a saloon car with registration number GR 8689 N in their possession.They were arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court the following day and remanded in prison custody to appear again on August 17.

The Police said upon a tip off they went to the area again on Friday and found the two corpses. They have been deposited at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital mortuary.
