Two suspected car thieves arrested

Kumasi, August 3, GNA- The police in Suame in Kumasi, on Friday arrested a lotto receiver and a driver for stealing a Toyota Front Runner belonging to Kublenu Adelai, a staff of a communication company in Accra.

Foster Gbedemah, 24, and Isaac Asante, 28, were in custody while the police were hunting for an accomplice.

Inspector Mohammed Tanko of the Public Affairs Unit of the Ashanti Regional Police, told GNA that the suspects attempted selling the vehicle at 30,000 Ghana cedis at a garage in Kumasi. He said the operators of the facility suspected that the vehicle had been stolen and reported the matter to the police. Inspector Tanko said the suspects admitted stealing the vehicle at Adenta, a suburb of Accra, and drove it to Kumasi for sale. He said the police were trying to get into contact with the owner of the vehicle. 3 Aug 07
