Two sub-chiefs installed at Senya Bereku

Senya Bereku (C/R), July 10, GNA – The People of Senya Bereku Traditional Area on Saturday installed a Tufuhene and Tufuhenmaa at a colourful ceremony at Senya Bereku.

They are Nenyi Kwaa Bentum V and Naase Efiba Bentuma I. The Tufuhene known in private life as Mr Ishmael Yabeni Barnes (JNR) o= f the National Security, succeeded his late Uncle Nenyi Kow Nkansah Arkaah, a former Vice President who died some ten years ago. Naase Efiba Bentuma known in private life as Mrs Faustian Bentuma Amoah, the Chief Executive of Owinde Foundation, a Charitable Organisation based in Accra that gives free education to girls, has also become the firs= t Tufuhemaa (sub women chief) of the Traditional Area. Earlier in the day they were carried through the principal streets of the town to the durbar grounds were traditions and customs were performed for their installations.

Nenyi Bentum and Naase Bentuma later took the oath of allegiance befor= e the Two Asafo Companies in the town. They promised to lead exemplary lives that would propel the developmen= t of the area and also work hard to restore peace and tranquillity. The Two Asafo Companies, Dentsifo Number two and Tuafo Number one, als= o swore to them and declared their unflinching support for them. The Asafo companies pledged to cooperate with the chiefs towards the development of the town. In a gala football match participated by six teams to commemorate the occasion, RBF Football Club emerged the champions and were given a trophy. Mr Abeaku Okai, a youth leader in the town was honoured as an “Ambassador of the youth” for his role in organising the youth towards the development of the town.

Among personalities at the programme were Mr Haruna Esseku, an opinion leader of the town, assembly members, representatives of the National Security and Nana Serwa, Kyidomhenbaa of the Akwamu Traditional Area.
