Two sisters suffocate to death

Tarkwa, (W/R) May 31, GNA- Tragedy hit Tarkwa last Saturday when two sisters suffocated to death in a Renault Espace Saloon car. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Effah Boanu told the GNA that the deceased were Ruth Dramani and Margaret Dramani, aged eight and five respectively.

He said the girls were daughters of Madam Paulina Shaibu, a cement dealer, who operates a store near a private car park near the Tarkwa railways station.

ASP Boanu said the children were playing at car park, while their mother was sleeping in her store.

He said in the course of play, the girls were trapped inside a car parked in the yard when they tempered with the locks of the vehicle. Madam Shaibu rushed the children, she found unconscious in the car to the Tarkwa Government Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at morgue awaiting autopsy, whiles Police were investigating the cause of their death.
