The Tarkwa circuit court has sentenced two armed robbers to a total of 40 years imprisonment in hard labour for robbery. Kamal Mohammed, a 32 year-old unemployed and Karim Yoda, a 20 year-old illegal miner were both convicted on their own plea of guilty.

The robbers then subjected the complainant to severe beatings and made away with a cash sum of GH¢ 25,000 and quantity of gold worth GH¢ 4,600.

He said after the robbers had escaped, the victims made a report to the police who issued them with medical forms to attend hospital.
