Two remanded for stowaway

A Takoradi magistrate court has remanded two persons for stowaway.

The two, Kwame Ato,18, and Kojo Asamoah,20, pleaded guilty on counts of conspiracy to commit crime and stowaway Wednesday when they appeared before the court, presided over by Thomas Offidie.

State prosecutor ASP Isaac Appenteng told the court that the suspects on March 28, 2015, secretly boarded the vessel, MV Taasinge Maersk, at 1am and hid in it for fifteen days before their cover was blown at Algeciras in Spain.

He disclosed that the two had in their possession some biscuits, Gari and water.
