Two remanded for stealing electrical cables

Tema, Nov. 11, GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘A’ on Thursday remanded into prison custody two electricians who allegedly conspired and stole electrical cables of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly’s (TMA) sewer pumping station.

Frank Tetteh and William Aza Pee, who pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy and stealing, were remanded to re-appear on Nov 25. The prosecution told the court presided over by Mrs Laurinda Owusu that the complainant in the case was the Sewer Manager of TMA. Chief Inspector Abraham Marteyfio stated that Tetteh and Pee resided at Ashaiman and Tema Community Two respectively. He said on October 21, this year, the complainant saw Tetteh cutting the electrical cables at the TMA Pumping Station at Community Five, and confronted him.

The prosecution added that Tetteh mentioned Pee and one Divine, now at large, as those who asked him to cut the cables at the pumping station. Complainant therefore arrested Pee and accompanied him to Tetteh’s house where he was also arrested. Chief Inspector Marteyfio said the two accused persons were then handed over to the Tema Community Two Police where upon interrogation, they admitted the offence in their caution statement. 11 Nov. 10
