Accra Dec. 6, GNA – The Adjabeng Magistrate’s Court has remanded into prison custody a 30 year-old woman, who allegedly aided and abetted with Daniel Kwasi Agyei, an unemployed, to rob a driver of his vehicle at Sakaman in Accra.

Ama Kyere, a trader, and his accomplice Agyei, are being held for conspiracy and robbery.

The court did not take their pleas.

The Prosecution said the complainant was, Mr Ibrahim Issah, driver of an Opel Astra with registration number GT 8996 U.

On November 27, 2006, at about 1300 hours Mr Issah was on his usual rounds at Sakaman when Ama Kyere and Agyei stopped and hired him to Darkuman.

Prosecution said when they reached Sakaman Junction, the two asked the driver to stop and pick two other men, now at large. As soon as the men joined the car, they ordered the driver to get out of the vehicle and they bolted with it.

Mr Issah with the assistance of a colleague chased the accused persons to Darkuman but on reaching the Kwashiman overhead, the accused persons drove through the traffic light, which had indicated, red but their vehicle skidded on to a pavement and residents around pounced on the accused persons but their accomplices escaped.

Ama Kyere and Agyei were later handed over to the Police.
