Two remanded for allegedly possessing Indian Hemp

Akim Oda(ER), June 24, GNA – An Akim Oda Magistrate’s Court on Monday, remanded Kwadwo Agyiri 21, a driver and Kwadwo Appiagyei 25, a carpenter, in prison custody for allegedly possessing twelve wrappers of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp. Their pleas were not taken and would re-appear on July 22. The prosecution told the court presided over by Mr Albert Owusu Annor, that the accused persons live at Akim Swedru and were spotted by the police in the evening of May 4, this year smoking some dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp in a bush near Akim Swedru Methodist Church. It said two other accomplices of the accused persons were on the run, but they were taken to the police station and after investigations charged with the offence.
