Two police officers interdicted over Ofankor jail break

Two police officers have been interdicted by the Ghana Police Service following a jail break at Ofankor Police Station on Thursday afternoon.

G/Sgt Wisdom Kwame Unulinyun with service number 39935 and PW/L/Cpl Agnes Effah with service number 6088, a counter NCO and SO respectively for Ofankor Station will remain on interdiction until the five escape suspects are rearrested.

Four of the escapee suspects according to police investigators, were in detention and undergoing investigations for their alleged involvement in stealing whilst the fifth one was being held for robbery.

All the five include; Kwaku Ahiale, 31 a robbery remand prisoner, Alhassan Waal 20, Sofo Mohammed 22, George Annor, 22 and Danladi Agera 20.

The two interdicted cop reported that the five (5) inmates in custody had escaped after they detected there was no one in the cell.

Inspection of the cells police revealed that the escapees created an outlet through the ceiling in the toilet and escaped through the roofing.

Meanwhile, information has been relayed to investigators, motorbike and vehicular patrols to hunt for them.
