The District Magistrate Court at Ajumako has remanded Kofi Adu, 21, and Yaw Ampong in Police custody for stealing.
The accused persons whose pleas were not taken would reappear before court on June 20.
They face four counts of conspiracy to steal and stealing GH¢15,000, unlawful entry and causing damage to property.
The complainant is Mr. Dominic Yeboah, a “Susu” collector at Breman Essiam.
Police Inspector Armo Hemans told the court presided over by Mr. Clement Kwesi Asomah that on May 29, this year, Mr. Yeboah attended the installation of a chief at Breman Essiam.
The accused persons broke into the complainant’s room, forcibly opened the cabinet and bolted with the money.
Insp. Hemans said when Mr. Yeboah’s son returned from school and noticed the theft, he reported the matter to the father.
The prosecution said Mr. Yeboah reported the theft to the Nkwantanum Police and upon investigation, the accused persons were arrested.
Insp. Hemans said when the Police interrogated the accused persons, they admitted the offence.
They also said that part of the amount was used in purchasing a KIA taxi, a Television set, a DVD and other personal items.
Inp. Hemans said the Police had retrieve GH¢5,632.50 from the accused.
The District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Seth Tay advised the public to save their money at the bank, and cautioned the youth against “get rich quick” attitude.**
