Two persons remanded for stealing

Tema, Aug. 25, GNA – The Circuit Court ‘B’ in Tema has remanded into custody two unemployed persons who allegedly stole items from Afko Fisheries marine shop in the city.

Stephen Entiful alias Kwame Sheioura and Samuel Asiama alias Kwasi Ayegbe pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on September 2, 2004. Prosecuting, Police Inspector Ben Agbedanu told the Court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on July 7, 2004, at 0500 hours, the police had a tip-off that the suspects had taken items from the shop.

He said the accused persons who were pushing a truck loaded with some items on the VALCO road at the Fishing Harbour took to their heels on seeing the police but Entiful was arrested together with the truck.

Insp Agbedanu said that the items included pieces of ammonia pipes, a welding cable, Frey on gauge, aluminium ladder, gas gauge stabilizer and two toolboxes all valued at 5.8 million cedis. Insp Agbedanu said Asiama was arrested on July 20.
