Two persons granted 40 million-cedi bail for stealing

Kumasi, April 25, GNA- A Kumasi Circuit Court, has granted a 40 million-cedi bail with two sureties to be justified to two persons charged with conspiracy to steal and stealing.

Jeremiah Hanson, a gardener and his accomplice, Collins Okyere, pleaded not guilty to the two charges and would re-appear on May 17. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector John K. Afful, told the court presided over by Mr Ernest Yao Obimpeh that at about 2230 hours on December 19, last year, Ms Rebecca Afriyie, the complainant was returning from Kumasi to Abura-Dunkwa when the three men attacked her and snatched her handbag containing 2.3 million cedis, a necklace worth 300,000 cedis and a Nokia mobile phone costing 600,000 cedis.

He said during the struggle, the complainant took off the shirt of the third accused identified as “Chocho” who is now at large. Chief Inspector Afful said Ms Afriyie reported the case leading to the arrest of Hanson and Okyere.
