Two persons arrested for alleged involvement in robbery

Aflao (V/R), Aug. 16, GNA- A combined team of security personnel from Accra and Aflao last Thursday arrested two persons mentioned in a number of robberies in Aflao from their hide outs.

Wofa Amponsah, 37, unemployed and the other person known as Blackie, have been sent to Police Headquaters for further investigations. Mr Kwabena Akuoko Oduro, Superintendent of Police In-Charge of Aflao District told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Aflao on Friday that the two were being sought for in connection with several robberies at Aflao.

He said Amponsah and Blackie were mentioned in a robbery at the Aflao Lorry Park last Wednesday in which a traveller lost cash in foreign currencies amounting to over 53 million cedis. Mr Oduro said Blackie was again wanted in a robbery case against Alhaji Baraji, the Malian community chief at Aflao.
