Two people sustain injuries in a rainstorm

Suhum, April 24, GNA – Two people including a pregnant woman were seriously injured when a severe rainstorm hit Teacher Mante near Suhum on Tuesday.

The victims were Ama Mawulawor 32, a farmer and Felicia Donkor 23, the pregnant woman, they were treated and discharged at the Suhum Government Hospital. Mr Edward Amedi Antwi, assemblyman for Teacher Mante told GNA that 23 houses and food crops were destroyed during the storm. He said about 60 people were rendered homeless and currently staying with friends and relatives. Mr Antwi appealed to Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District Assembly and National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) for assistance to the victims.
