Two people die in motor accident

Tepa (Ash), April 12, GNA- Two people died on the spot while six others sustained various degrees of injury when a Nissan taxi collided with a Benz cargo truck on the Tepa-Mabang road last Wednesday.

The dead have been identified as Kofi Adams, 22, driver of the taxi and Abukari Awudu, 42, a passenger of the taxi.

Kennedy Owusu Fordjour, 26, and Alhassan, whose conditions were very critical are on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi while Kwadwo Bonsu, 19 and Marvin Gey, 23, are on admission at Tepa district hospital and are responding to treatment. Two others, Fati Musa, 25, and Shaibu Sisala, 48, were treated and discharged at Tepa hospital.

The driver of the cargo truck, Kojo Nartey, his mate and a passenger, Yaa Asantewaa, escaped unhurt.

According to the police, the taxi was travelling from Tepa to Mabang whilst the cargo truck was transporting foodstuffs from Goaso to Tema.
