Two people charged with murder

Nkawie (Ash), May 25, GNA- The Nkawie police on Monday prevented an angry mob from lynching two suspects who were arraigned before the Nkawie Magistrate’s court on suspicion of causing the murder of Opanin Kwaku Poku, a 50-year-old farmer at Mpasatia in Ashanti. Osei Kwabena, a businessman at Mpasatia and his driver, Francis Donkor, had to be whisked by the police into a waiting vehicle as the angry mob threw anything they laid hands on at the suspects. Their pleas were not taken and were remanded to re-appear on June 18.

Opanin Poku was found hanging on his farm about two weeks ago with his hands, legs and other parts removed presumably for ritual purposes at Mpasatia near Nkawie in the Atwima district.
