Two pals gang rape 15-year-old

Two friends, Emmanuel Sikawude Badame and Ali Mohammed, have been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court after they were said to have defiled a 15-year-old girl in turns.

The accused persons committed the offence with the help of one of their friends, Dollar, who lured the girl into the house.

The police are looking for the whereabouts of the said Dollar who is said to be on the run.

Badame, an art director and his alleged accomplice, Mohammed, were put before a court presided over Ms Sedina Agbemava and charged with defilement.

They have been remanded while the case has been adjourned to August 27, 2013.

Presenting the facts of the case, the prosecuting officer, Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire, told the court the accused persons are friends who live around Korle-Gonno, while the complainant is the father of the victim who lives with his daughter at Bamboi.

According to him, on July 17, 2013, the victim went to Korle-Gonno Beach with three friends who later left her and went to a certain house around the area.

He said a certain guy by name Dollar went to the victim who was looking for her friends and pointed to the house where the accused persons were and told the victim that her friends were there and wanted to see her.

Furthermore, he noted that Dollar offered to take the victim to her friends and asked her to sit on his motor bike, to which the victim agreed and went with him.

The prosecutor stated that the victim met her friends who were in the house with the accused persons after which Dollar left. Her friends later also left, leaving the victim with the accused persons.

In addition, he said the house belonged to the aunt of Badame, but the two friends stayed there and when it was night, the arts director told her to sleep in the hall and when she did, he defiled her there and gave her GH¢2.00 the next day to buy food.

Explaining further, he said Mohammed also took the victim to his room the next morning and had sex with her.

He stated that, a misunderstanding ensued between Mohammed and the victim and he gave her GH¢5.00 to go home.

The police officer observed that the complainant who was worried about his daughter asked her how she was doing, and she then narrated her ordeal to him.

The prosecutor said the complainant consequently reported the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of the accused person after the victim underwent a medical examination.
