Two NDC youth factions clash over re-nomination of DCE

Two factions of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region yesterday reportedly clashed over the re-nomination of Adams Iddisah as District Chief Executive.

President Mahama endorsed Mr Iddisah to maintain his post.

But some angry NDC youth who objected the decision besieged the Regional Coordinating Council to express their displeasure.

A second group also emerged there with placards declaring unflinching support for the DCE.

The agitation ended in a fisticuffs and a war of words with supporters of the DCE accusing the other of taking bribes to stage the demonstration.

Meanwhile, those against his nomination claimed he has failed over the past four years to “help” the party and the youth of the area.

They have therefore written to the regional minister and the chief of staff to prevail on the president to rescind his decision within five days.
