Two MPs win primaries in Kwahu area

Two New Patriotic Party (NPP) members of parliament (MP) in the Nkawkaw and Mpraeso Constituencies won the party’s parliamentary primaries at Nkawkaw and Mpraeso.

The MPs are Eric Kwakye Daffour who defeated his main contestant, Ms Joyce Opoku Boateng, a legal practitioner by 334 votes to 271 at the Nkawkaw constituency primary.

In the Mpraeso constituency, the MP, Seth Kwame Acheampong got 321 votes to defeat his main contestant , Elvis Ofori Boateng who had 225 votes out of the 578 votes cast.

In the Abetifi constituency, Bryan Acheampong defeated three other contestants with 449 votes out of the 633 votes cast to win the party’s nomination for the constituency.

After the declaration of the results, all the loosing contestants accepted defeat and gave assurance to cooperate with the winning candidates, the constituency executive and the party supporters to win the parliamentary seats and the 2016 presidential elections.

Mr Acheampong said the high number of votes he obtained shows the confidence the people had reposed in him to solve their water and environmental problems.
