Two men in court for fighting

Kade (E/R), Oct. 09, GNA – Two men residing in the same house at Asuom in the Kwaebibirem District have appeared before the Kade District Magistrate’s Court for quarrelling, fighting and disturbing the peace of the area.

Yaw Amponsah, farmer, and Ernest Twumasi Ankrah, a car liner, both pleaded not guilty and were granted a bail of GH¢800 with a surety each to reappear on October 11.

Sergeant Ambrose Apkabie told the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Illiasu that the two had been at loggerheads for over four years.

He said on 9th September, Amponsah reported to the police station with a knife and a wound on his head and said Ankrah was responsible for the injury, he was then given a medical form and sent to the hospital for treatment.

He said the next day, Ankrah also reported to the police station with a club complaining of neck pain, and claimed Amponsah was responsible for it and was in turn also given a medical form and sent to the hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Apkabie said further investigations revealed that the two accused following a judgment at the Kade Court in September exchanged words which nearly resulted in a fight but they were separated, then not long after that they fought till they were again separated by bystanders.
