Two market women die in lorry accident

Ejura (Ash), Sept. 6, GNA – Two market women, who are yet to be identified and suspected to be in their forties died on the spot during the early hours of Monday, at Dome, near Ejura, when the 207 Mercedes Benz bus on which they were travelling on to Ejura was involved in an accident..

Superintendent of Police, in-charge of Ejura-Sekyedumase District, Mr Henry Bacho, told the Ghana News Agency that, the 207 Benz bus with registration number AS 4635 N, and driven by one Abdul Karim, 27, somersaulted near Ejura.

He said the bus was carrying market women who were on their way to sell their wares at Ejura on Monday, which is a market day. Mr Bcho said when they got to Dome, one of the front tyres of the vehicle got busted and the vehicle somersaulted. The rest of the passengers, who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to the Ejura Government Hospital and have been treated and discharged.

The driver, who got seriously injured, has been admitted at the Asante-Mampong Government Hospital. The bodies of the two women have been deposited at the Asante-Mampong Government Hospital Morgue.
