Two killed in Tamale-Kintampo highway crash

Two persons have died and one critically injured in a car accident on the Tamale – Kintampo Highway Friday night.

The crash reportedly happened at Damango the junction near Yapei in the Central Gonja district of the Northern region.

The accident involved a heavy loaded truck believed to be traveling to Burkina Faso with a registration number 11HL602 and a Mini Van with a registration number GN-6166-12.

An eyewitness said both vehicles were traveling North when the Van run into the truck at a Police barrier near the popular junction.

The driver of the Van was said to have lost control when the truck made a sudden stop, allegedly, upon the orders of the Police officers.

Two out of the three occupants of the van died instantly leaving one in a serious condition.

The deceased have been deposited at Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue.
