Two hundred NDC supporters defect to NPP

Asaam (Ash), Nov. 20, GNA – Two hundred supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Asaam, near Asante-Mampong, have defected to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), citing President John Agyekum Kufuor’s sterling leadership qualities as the reason for their defection.

Mr Osman Hamid, a Spokesperson for the defectors, who introduced his comrades at a well-attended mini NPP rally at Asaam, cursed the day they joined the NDC and blessed Tuesday, the day of their defection to the NPP.

He said the NPP had within its three-and-a-half years in power, performed beyond human imagination and urged the electorate to vote massively for the Party to enable it to continue with the good work it had started.

Oheneba Kwasi Durowaah, Mampong Constituency Chairman of the NPP, commended the defectors for their decision to join the NPP and their high sense of appreciation and objectivity.

He said the NPP was a national Party, adding that it would justify that by winning more votes and more parliamentary seats in all the 10 regions in the December polls.

Mr Peter A. Sarkodie, NPP Parliamentary Candidate, welcomed them to the NPP fold and urged them to motivate and mobilise more people into the Party.

He advised them to live above reproach to enable them to fit into the Party.

Mr Sarkodie later presented party tee shirts and other paraphernalia to the defectors.
