Tepa (Ash), Dec. 3, GNA -Henry Okyere, 18, a first year student of Tepa Secondary School and Nicholas Owusu-Ansah, a mechanic, were last Friday sentenced to seven years imprisonment each for defiling a 14-year-old primary six pupil by the Tepa circuit court.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Police Inspector Prosper Yao Aheto told the court that on December 11, 2002 the victim accompanied her friend to Tepa from Akwasiase to visit the friend’s boy friend.
He said at about 2100 hours the victim decided to return to Akwasiase when her friend made it known to her that she was spending the night at Tepa.
Inspector Aheto said when the victim was finding it difficult to get a vehicle to Akwasiase, Okyere volunteered to accommodate her with his sister for the night.
He said Okyere then took the victim to a house and asked her to enter a room whose door had been left open without light.
Inspector Aheto said no sooner had the girl entered the room than the accused persons pounced on her, gagged her and forcibly had sex with her. The prosecution said the next day the victim reported the incident to her mother who informed the police.
