Two foot-bridges commissioned for Madina Community

Alhaji Amadu Sorogoh, Member of Parliament for Madina, and Mr Franklin Anku, Municipal Chief Executive of La-Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly, jointly commissioned two foot-bridges for the Madina Zongo and Babayara communities on Friday.

The bridges, constructed by the Assembly at a cost of Gh¢99,941.01 would facilitate the movement of residents in the community, especially school children, who struggle to cross the stream during the rainy season almost at the peril of their lives.

Mr Anku said the bridges had come at an opportune time to save the lives of the school children and appealed to the chiefs and people of the community to use them wisely to prolong their lifespan.

Alhaji Amadu Sorogoh, on his part, appealed to the people within the Babayara Township and the Madina-Zongo to develop the culture of maintenance to ensure the foot-bridges lasted longer.

Alhaji Baba Seidu, Chief of Madina, told the Ghana News Agency that he was contributing to the welfare of the community by constructing a four-classroom Kindergarten block valued at Gh¢90,000 for the Madina MA No.1 School Complex.

He said that was being done with assistance from the chiefs and people of the Madina Community and the assembly which had promised to provide cement and sand to ensure the kingdergarten block was completed within six months.

Alhaji Abdala Saibu, Chief Imam of Madina, offered prayers for the successful completion of the projects.
