Two fitting mechanics defile JSS pupil

Tarkwa (W/R), Sept. 24, GNA – Two fitting mechanics, Ackaah Kwesi, 20, and Omiam Elijah, 24, were on Thursday remanded in prison custody for defiling a 14 year-old JSS girl in turns. Their pleas were not taken and would re-appear on October 11. The court also issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Abena Denyo, a 28 year-old farmer for aiding and abetting crime. Prosecuting, police Inspector Joseph K. Agbedor of the Ateiku Police Station told the court presided over by Mr John Ajet-Nasam that, the victim was a JSS student attending Kayereku D/C JSS and resides at Lomnava village, near Atieku.

Inspector Agbedor said on September 19 this year, the victim was sacked from school to purchase exercise books but when she got home she did not meet her parents, who had gone to the farm.

The victim, who was then hungry went to buy food and on her way back, met the accused persons on the way.

The prosecutor continued that Ackaah snatched a storybook the victim was holding with the excuse that he wanted to glance through. When the victim asked for her book, Ackaah declined to return it but rather spoke French to Omiam, who quickly carried the victim and sent her to Abena Denyo’s room, whilst Ackaah followed up.

Inspector Agbedor added that, Denyo, who was a prime witness to the scene did not question the accused persons, neither did she go to the aid of the victim, when she shouted and cried for help. Ackaah and Omiam forcibly removed her pants and defiled her in turns.

The victim was however, rescued by a hunter, who was returning from the bush and heard the victim’s cry and shout for help. A report was later made to the police by the victim’s uncle and Ackaah and Omiam were arrested.
