Two file nominations to contest NDC Asokwa East Primaries

Kumasi, Sept. 4, GNA – Dr Adam Gibiril Mohammed, a Private Medical Practitioner based in Kumasi and Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar, a Transport Owner, have filed their nominations to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Asokwa East constituency in the Kumasi Metropolis.

Mr J.B. Salifu, Acting Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, who disclosed this to the GNA in Kumasi on Thursday, said the Regional Secretariat had also received reports that interested party members wishing to contest the primaries in the remaining 32 constituencies had also filed their nominations by the end of August. He said the constituencies were yet to furnish the Regional Secretariat with the names, background and other relevant information on the candidates.

Mr Salifu said now that the filing of nominations was over the Secretariat would organize the primaries in all the constituencies to elect the substantive candidate after two months.

He, therefore, advised the contestants to conduct their campaigns for the primaries in a decent and matured manner devoid of insults and personal attacks.
