Two facilities inaugurated in Atwima Nwabiagya District

Amoamang (Ash), June 17, GNA- A KVIP, place of convenience, and a bore hole have been inaugurated at Amoamang near Barikese in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of Ashanti Region. The assembly funded the KVIP construction of the toilet while the drilling of the bore was funded by Rotary Club International through the Rotary club of Kumasi.

Mr. Thomas Ofori Donkor, the District Chief Executive, who inaugurated the facilities, said national development was a shared responsibility and asked all Ghanaians to contribute to the process. He commended the Rotary Club for contributing to the development of the district and announced that roads in Asuofua, Akyease, Nketia and Amoamang had been earmarked for rehabilitation this year. He said the assembly was working to ensure that the Ghana Water Company extended water supply to communities in Amoamang, and the Owabi and Barikese Dam catchment areas.

Dr. Kwabena Ahenkora, president of the Rotary Club of Kumasi, said the water project was spearheaded by a rotarian couple, Mr. and Mrs. John Barret, from the Rotary Club of Langley Park, Britain. He said the club provided a bore hole each for Antoa Senior High School, Kumasi Girls Senior High School, Akosomo and Amoamang communities, all in the Region. Mr. Ali Ibrahim, assembly member for the area, commended the assembly and the Rotary Club for their contribution to development of the people.
