Two District Chief Executives sworn into office in Upper West

Wa, March 21, GNA – Mr Ambrose Dery, the Upper West Regional Minister, has urged Municipal and district Chief executives to avoid any form of discrimination and be ready to consult and to dialogue on issues that affect the people.

He said this when he swore two new District Chief Executives into office on Friday. The new DCEs are Mr Adams Mahama Issahaku for Wa East and Ishmael Madah for Sissala West.

DCEs nominated for the two districts last year were rejected by their district assemblies, prompting the President to make the two fresh nominations who were overwhelmingly confirmed.

Mr Dery told the new DCEs that they were appointed to serve in a government that believed in service to the people and they must do so with diligence, commitment and selflessness.

“If you are to succeed as public office holders, you are required to adhere strictly to the attributes of your government”. He advised them to respect and give recognition where it was due and avoid making promises they could not fulfil.

In response Mr Madah said he and his colleague were aware of the problems of the two newly created districts and would tackle them head on.

He thanked the President for appointing them and gave the assurance that they would work round the clock to ensure that his vision in creating their two new districts was achieved.
