Two Dead, Six Injured in Bechem–Techimantia Road Crash

Two people have died following a road traffic accident that occurred at Kwasu, along the Bechem–Techimantia road in the Ahafo Region on Monday afternoon.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), personnel from the Bechem Fire Station received a distress call around 1:45 p.m. and immediately deployed a seven-member rescue team led by ASTNO Kwaku Doe to the accident scene.

A statement from the Service indicated that the crash involved a Toyota Voxy with registration number AS 6403-25, which was carrying eight passengers at the time of the incident.

Upon arrival, the rescue team found two victims deceased. Their bodies were later handed over to the Police. The remaining six injured passengers were rescued and transported by the National Ambulance Service to the Bechem Government Hospital for emergency care.

The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, but authorities confirmed that the vehicle sustained severe damage as investigations continue.
