Two dead in fatal accident at Asafo

Two persons are feared dead and one said to be in critical condition after a Toyota Corolla salon car with the registration number AW 9776-13, rammed into a stationary bus at the VIP station at Asafo, a suburb of the Kumasi Metropolis.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the salon car only identified as Don King, was reportedly drunk and was speeding on that stretch of the road crashing into the bus with registration number GT 4673-12. His girlfriend who was seated on the driver’s passenger seat is also reportedly dead, but his colleague who survived the ghastly accident is said to be in critical condition and currently on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Onlookers manage to take the injured and dead persons from the wreckage.

Akua Adepa of Abusua 96.5 Fm who reported on the incident, said police later managed to clear the area for traffic flow but said eyewitnesses were claim the drunk driver is a resident of the area.
