Two communities provided with police barracks

Wioso (Ash), June 27, GNA- The Ahafo-Ano South District Assembly has provided the Mpasaso and Wioso communities with police barracks costing over one billion cedis from its share of the common fund. The nine-unit building each for the communities are to accommodate serving police officers as well as provide residence for additional personnel who may be posted there to help fight crime in the area. Addressing the chiefs and people at separate durbars in the two communities, Mr Kwaku Obeng Boateng, the District Chief Executive, urged the people to bury their differences and unite to accelerate development in the area since disunity and misunderstanding hamper development. He entreated them to take advantage of the capitation grant and send their children to school to enable them to become useful citizens in the future and also reminded them to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme for affordable health care. The DCE charged the youth engaged in the National Youth Employment Programme and the mass spraying exercise to remain disciplined, hard working and honest. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Frank Aborakwah, the Mankranso District Police Commander, commended the district assembly for the gesture and promised to liaise with the Ashanti Regional Police Command to get more police personnel to be posted to the district.
