In an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the sod-cutting ceremony, the two chiefs said they had given out the land as their contribution towards building the new district to improve development of the area.

Nana Atta Yaw Kwaakwah, Mankrado of Coaltar and a tutor at the Nsawam Senior High School, said they would work hand-in-hand with the incoming District Chief Executive, Mr. Mark Ofori Darko, to bring developmental projects to the people.

He said some of the projects the people were expecting from the assembly included the provision of potable water and health facility.
